I am an introverted, intuitive, open minded, creative, sensitive human. I like to spend my time relaxed in solitude or with my husband, son, and pups. I’m most at ease outdoors, where there is an abundance of awe-inspiring sights to take in & minimal distractions.
I’m always learning, or “Committed to a life of growth” as I often say. My favorite ways of connecting within are through meditation, yoga, or writing.
My guilty pleasures include listening to true crime podcasts, hoarding gemstones, and traveling to find the best fruited craft beer.
My love for mindfulness developed in my early adult years; a time when I felt lost, stagnant, & had difficulty making meaningful connections. I struggled with my sense of self, and with finding my purpose and values in life. I often wrote about these woes, and once expressed
“My soul has been sliding down the curves of a rainbow, unsure of what color suits it best.”
I set upon a journey of self-discovery, & connected to my sense of spirituality through Buddhism, meditation, and yoga. That common factor in all three, mindfulness, became the catalyst for my healing and professional development.
My approach isn’t traditional; I know that each individual needs tools and interventions tailored to their unique experiences. Furthermore, I understand that a sense of well-being goes far beyond the thoughts and emotions we struggle with. I believe in treating the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. I blend evidenced-based western approaches to psychology, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with eastern wellness practices such as breath work, energy work, and yoga.
I’m a wholehearted, empathetic therapist, but I’m not afraid to challenge my clients when needed. My goal is to help you feel as if you’re meeting up with a close friend or kindred spirit for coffee; To feel open and uninhibited.
I believe in the healing powers of knowledge, & will often share bits of neuroscience & research in our sessions to help you understand why the skills and resources I provide are beneficial.
It brings me joy to work with individuals from various backgrounds and orientations. I work hard to get to know all of the intimate details that make you a wondrously unique individual, so that you may feel seen, heard, and understood. More importantly, so that we may work together in creating your vision for your highest self.
Being a therapist is a privilege that I hold in high regard. Clients share their innermost thoughts with me, allow me to provide them with insight or knowledge, and trust in my guidance. I’m honored to hold this incredible responsibility.
I strive to be fully present in each of my sessions; to listen with intention; to accept each individual exactly as they are, while also nurturing growth; and to ensure that my clients feel seen, understood, and inspired.
I may have experience in the areas that we explore in treatment, but I am by no means an expert at your life. Your thoughts, opinions, and preferences are crucial for successful outcomes. By providing me with feedback, I can personalize my approach to your individual needs.
